Scored on the partitions, not the averaged number — a 4 ft NW and a 3 ft S arriving together read as mediocre in a single wave-height figure and are the best morning of the week in the water. Combo days are called out explicitly.

Tide is judged three ways: it must stay above your floor and below your ceiling for the whole window, and it must be heading the right way. "Filling in" means the tide is higher after your trend window than it was at first light — a session sitting at 0 ft and rising is a different session from one at 0 ft dropping to −1.2, even though both clear a 0 ft floor.
Face height estimated as 1.6 × the combined significant height of all active swell partitions (energy adds in quadrature). It's a rule of thumb, not a breaking-wave model — treat it as a sorting tool.
Combo = at least one partition from the S/SW band and one from the W/NW band, each clearing your combo minimum.
Green only ever appears inside the trust window, because that's the only range where swell and wind are actually known. Everything further out is yellow at best — the tide is right and the rest is a question.
